Back into Racing

Cold bright morning today greeted us as the Roaches 15 miles fell race with over 3500 feet of climbing was taking place in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The going was extremely soft under foot bordering on quagmire proportions the race included the beautiful climb up and over the roaches and also the Cheshire Matterhorn Shutlingsloe. Apart from a bit of cramp and general fatigue finished with a time of 3hrs 14mins good to get going again bring on 2018 and some ultra trail events....

Trail Race Result

First race for almost 18 months the Dusk till Dawn Trail 1/2 marathon with 2500ft climbing in the dark in the Peak District. Got into my rhythm early in a very mild 11 degrees temperature running steady in the first 20 runners. Up and over the first climb and then back into town for checkpoint before ascending the next climb of cave Dale by this time the mist had come down visibility poor. Now splitting routes from the Ultra and Marathon runners to ascend Mam Tor then slippery descent down towar...
